United By Faith Chairman, Wilson Chowdhry, Addresses Italian Senate Meeting on Religious Freedom

Thirteen years have passed since the tragic assassination of Shahbaz Bhatti, the former Minister of Minorities in Pakistan, yet his legacy continues to ignite a global movement dedicated to peace and religious freedom. Our Chairman Wilson Chowdhry, was invited to speak at an event held in his honour, held at the Italian Senate on 11th March 2024. You can watch his address here: The event was organised by the Association of Pakistani Christians in Italy, who aimed to remember Mr Bhatti's life as a Catholic,  fostering peace among religions and cultures. As a Pakistani citizen, he advocated for equal citizenship, particularly reaching out to persecuted Christians and marginalized religious minorities. His tangible contributions included negotiations with state stakeholders to uplift the most marginalized sectors of society, where he embodied the principles of Christ through his words and actions. Palestine flag sprayed on a Redbridge bus stop A rare 6 person delegation addressed the Redbridge Council's Cabinet Meeting, highlighting the widespread presence of Pro-Palestinian flags, stickers, and graffiti (click here) .  The matter has previously been highlighted at a full council meeting with seemingly little effect (click here) Additionally, concerns were raised about the bullying of a Christian child by peers supporting the pro-Palestine cause at King Solomon High School, a modern Orthodox Jewish school. The delegation also brought attention to an altercation that ensued when a Jewish man took action to remove Palestinian flag stickers , citing perceived inaction by the Redbridge Council. Community Tensions Flare as Jewish Resident Faces Threats Amidst Efforts to Address Redbridge Flag Display Issue

A Palestinian flag sticker like this resulted in the verbal assault of a local Jewish man.  A Jewish man returning from a meal with friends in Central London found himself subjected to a verbal assault and threatened with physical violence after attempting to remove a pro-Palestine sticker from a lamppost in Woodford, located in the London Borough of Redbridge. During the verbal exchange, the man was subjected to derogatory language, being called a "F****** Jew," threatened with violence, and warned that the assailant would summon companions from his local mosque. Shaken but determined to protect himself, the man responded by also recording the latter stages of the verbal assault as he and his wife walked away from the dangerous situation.
