"Home": A Celebration of Refugee Week at Deal Pier

                             On June 22, 2024, Deal Pier came alive with a vibrant and colorful festival celebrating Refugee Week. Organized by Seeking Sanctuary and Electronica band Ooberfuse, the event aimed to raise awareness about migrants near our shores and provide humanitarian aid to those in Calais. Seeking Sanctuary are a Kent-based organization dedicated to promoting awareness of the challenges faced by migrants and asylum seekers in Calais and beyond. Their mission includes offering humanitarian assistance to migrants stranded in Calais. The festival showcased performances by former asylum seekers, including a professional dancer from North Korea and a singer from Cameroon. The event was emceed by Mr. Wilson Chowdhry (50 yrs), Chairman of United by Faith, with his daughter Willow Chowdhry (13 yrs) representing the British Asian Christian Association. Eight days later, the 76-year-old father of five succumbed to his injuries, passing away in pain and anguish. His life was violently cut short by a mob of at least 1,000 people, incited by false allegations of blasphemy. Urgent Call for Action: Thousands Protest in London Demanding the Release of Hostages in Gaza

Willow Chowdhry at protest calling for release of Israeli Hostages by Hamas. Thousands of people marched in London on Sunday to demand the immediate release of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza. The demonstration began at Lincoln’s Inn Fields, Holborn, and ended at Richmond Terrace, Whitehall. Families of the hostages emphasized the urgent need to "bring our loved ones home" The rally, part of broader pro-Israel demonstrations, featured protesters in Trafalgar Square holding photos of the missing, with their names and short biographies read aloud from the steps of the National Gallery. Protesters also held up placards with the names and brief biographies of all the hostages still unaccounted for. Many wore stickers with the number 240, representing the number of days that the hostages have been in captivity. Yellow ribbons were worn on wrists, in hair, and as ribbon stickers in solidarity with all the hostages.  The gathering aimed to draw global attention to the plight of these
